Adventure In The Napu Village
Napu Village is one of the villages in Hampang Subdistrict, Kota Baru Regency, the majority of the Napu villagers are the Dayak Maratus tribe who are still strong and firm in holding sacred traditional traditions and have their own characteristics from other tribes. The common livelihood of the people from Napu village was a rubber sledge and farming such as planting cassava, vegetables and oil palm gardening.
At that time when I and the whole team from ASC Tanbu explored the
village of Napu, we met many houses from the villagers (Dayak tribes) who made
corn as the main source of livelihood, because corn was easier to maintain with
the natural conditions of the village and tended to be many want it from
outside the city for animal feed and so on.
Then we can conclude that the Dayak Maratus tribe who used to make a
living as rubber tappers and just grow crops is now in line with the times and
increasing social needs they are increasing their livelihood by planting corn
and selling it to stockholders in the city to be used as animal feed and other
things.
In addition to activities from the livelihoods of the people of Napu
village, the Dayak Maratus people also have a traditional tradition consisting
of:
1. Typical Food of the Maratus Dayak Tribe
A. Lemang
Lemang is one of the typical foods of the Dayak Maratus tribe. The common Lemang is made from
glutinousrice cooked in bamboo and mixed with young coconut milk. But along with the times, lemang is
not only served simply, now it is developed by mixing it with various other side dishes such as fish, chicken,
vegetables, beans and others. However, the manufacture of lemang in the modern era did not leave the typical
way of making it from the original tribe, namely by cooking lemang in bamboo and then burning it.
and........ this it: This is LEMANG.
Bawenang is a traditional Dayak Maratus tribe ceremony from Napu village which is very sacred.2. Dayak Maratus Tribal Customary Program in Napu Village
A. Bawenang
The traditional ceremony is the same as Aruh Ganal which is held to commemorate the harvest day or where the people of the tribe have arrived and harvested from the results of the rice and other plantations before they can be eaten. The term in the local language is called MEHANYARI BANIH or renew seeds from the harvest.
The bawenang is led by a customary elder from the village who is usually called Demang Balian orone who has the indigenous knowledge of the Dayak tribe. As an accompaniment to the Bawenang program, the musical instrument used is a drum and is displayed by some dancers decorated with palm leaves or Parasite leaves.
C. Introduction of Napu Village Attractions
There are many tours found in Napu village which
have not been explored and have not been touched by many tourists, this means
that the tours in the village are still very natural from Nature.
Villagers use tourism not as an income enhancer,
but only to carry out daily activities such as washing, bathing, cooking and
transporting. They have not thought about bringing in tourists, but they let the tourist attraction as they are until we arrive and explore some of the tours there.
